To get your hands on a Sneakerbox Co reward bundle, you had to decrypt clues and navigating through a series of online locations. Unlike past hunts, this one tested your ability to crawl the sneaker web, instead of the streets of NYC.
The hunt kicked off at 4:30PM EST, at which point we posted a link to the hunt's microsite in our Instagram bio. Once you clicked that link, you were directed to start the hunt. After reading through the instructions, you could access the first clue on the next page.
CHALLENGE 1 OF 4
The clue to the first online location read,
This sneaker innovation hub is located in cities all over the world. They go by 21M in NYC, but PS7, P75, 1948, X158, and LNZ1 in other cities.
ANSWER: NIKE LAB PARIS P75
But, Challenge 1 didn't end there. The second half of the clue read,
While you may know NYC's 21M, use Google Maps' Street View feature to take a virtual trip to P75, which is in the same city as the newly-opened Supreme store.
Once you're outside the store, look for a foreign word right above the window front, which is the password to unlock challenge 2 of 4.
Upon virtually visiting P75 in Paris using Google Maps' Street View, you saw the NikeLab building with the word librairie above the window front, which was the code to unlock the clue to the next location.
CHALLENGE 2 OF 4
The clue to the second online location read,
To the naked eye, this Beantown sneaker boutique looks like a small grocery store. But pass through the faux door disguised as a vending machine and you'll find sneaker heaven.
ANSWER: BODEGA STORE
Similar to the last challenge, this one didn't end there. The second half of the clue read,
Once you know this speakeasy sneaker boutique, take a trip to their store using Google Maps' Street View feature.
From the outside, you won't see their logo on an awning or any sneakers in the window. However, you will see some grocery products like toilet paper and dish soap.
Look for a row of faded orange boxes in the store front's top right window display. The word on any of the orange boxes is the password to unlock challenge 3 of 4.
Upon virtually visiting Bodega in Boston using Google Maps' Street View, you saw the mysterious building with a window display. In the top right corner, a row of orange boxes all had the word vista on them, which was the word that unlocked the clue to the next location.
CHALLENGE 3 OF 4
The clue to the third online location read,
This European sneaker boutique is famous for their Air Max 1 Anniversary Pack, which was inspired by their country's currency and its historic 5 Guilder coin.
Like the past challenges, you had to hunt down the store -- and even step inside. The second half of the clue read,
Once you know this iconic sneaker boutique, take a trip to their store using Google Maps' Street View feature. Once you're there, step inside the store and head to the back of the 1st floor where you'll see a mannequin wearing a hat.
The word on the front of the mannequin's hat is the password to unlock the final challenge.
Upon virtually visiting Patta in Amsterdam using Google Maps' Street View, you could step inside the store by double-clicking on the store front. In the back of the store, you would find a mannequin wearing a hat that read minds, which was the word that unlocked the clue to the next location.
CHALLENGE 4 OF 4
Once you traveled the virtual world of sneaker boutiques, the final challenge presented 7 trivia questions, which tested your knowledge of sneaker culture, history, collabs, and recent events.
If you were one of the first three participants to answer all trivia questions correctly, you won one of the three Sneakerbox reward bundles.
Here was the catch -- you could only could submit once. No errors. It was up to you to balance speed and accuracy.
If you were one of the three winners, we contacted you via Instagram DM and email about claim your reward.
